Staff Accountant (Project Accounting Focus)

Summary

A growing, collaborative professional services firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a fast-paced accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys full-cycle accounting with project-based work.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Process invoices and maintain vendor relationships
• Manage weekly check runs and expense reports (review receipts, coding, and reimbursements)
• Reconcile corporate credit cards and track project-related expenses
• Ensure accurate entry and organization within ERP system

Accounts Receivable / Billing

• Support month-end billing cycle, including reviewing pre-bills and preparing client invoices
• Validate project details, reimbursables, and G/L coding
• Process invoice adjustments and replacements as needed

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in project-based environments (architecture, design, or similar)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Vantagepoint a plus)
• Strong Excel and systems proficiency
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Additional Details

• M-F, 9am-6pm, Hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite)
