📍 Location: Houston, TX (Galleria Area) – On-Site, Monday–Friday

💰 Compensation: $70,000–$95,000 + Annual Bonus

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and respected medical malpractice defense firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional who enjoys managing cases from inception through trial and wants to build a long-term career with a collaborative firm.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment. Medical malpractice experience is a plus but not required—the firm is open to paralegals with strong litigation experience from a variety of practice areas.

Responsibilities

• ⚖️ Provide litigation support throughout all phases of the case lifecycle.
• 📂 Prepare, organize, and maintain case files and litigation documents.
• ✍️ Draft and assist with pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• 📑 Coordinate and manage document production and discovery.
• 🩺 Review and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case materials.
• 📅 Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, expert witnesses, and trial logistics.
• 📚 Prepare exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks.
• 🏛️ Assist attorneys with trial preparation and provide support during trial as needed.
• ⏰ Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders.
• 🤝 Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Qualifications

• ✔️ 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• ✔️ Medical malpractice defense experience is a plus but not required.
• ✔️ Comprehensive understanding of the litigation process from case inception through trial.
• ✔️ Experience with litigation support, discovery, trial preparation, and case management.
• ✔️ Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• ✔️ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• ✔️ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• ✔️ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
