Job Description
A leading manufacturer of forged tool steels, plastic mold steels, die cast tool steels, and custom open-die forgings. Is looking to add an FP&A Manager to their team in their South Chicago Location.
The FP&A Manager will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis to support key business decisions and drive performance across the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership, operations, and cross-functional teams to deliver actionable financial insights in a complex manufacturing environment. The position reports directly to the CFO and manages one Financial Analyst.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across business units
- Develop financial models including revenue, labor, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and cash flow
- Perform variance analysis and present insights to leadership
- Build and leverage Power BI dashboards in partnership with IT
- Conduct profitability analysis across product lines and customers
- Analyze manufacturing performance metrics including cost, labor, inventory, and efficiency
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and sales to drive business performance
- Support pricing strategy, cost reduction, and margin improvement initiatives
- Assist with capital investment analysis and ROI evaluations
- Enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools
- Support audit processes and ensure financial controls and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5 to 8 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting experience
- Manufacturing or industrial industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial modeling
- Experience with SAP and preferably SAP Business Planning and Consolidation
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Experience
- Heavy manufacturing or metals industry exposure
- Experience with plant finance and operational KPIs
- Inventory and supply chain finance
- Capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis
