Staff Accountant

A leading Oilfield Services organization is partnering with LHH to identify a detail-oriented Entry-Level Financial Analyst / Junior Staff Accountant to join their growing finance and accounting team. This is a 100% onsite opportunity offering hands-on exposure to core accounting processes, financial reporting, and ERP systems.

This opportunity is open to early-career professionals and recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting who have gained practical experience through multiple accounting internships.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

• Pay Rate: $38.00 – $40.00 per hour
• Schedule: Full-time, onsite
• Location: Houston, TX area

Position Overview

In this role, you will support daily and periodic accounting functions while contributing to accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely close cycles, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, amortizations, and allocations
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities
• Maintain and track fixed assets and prepaid expense schedules
• Support capital expenditure reporting (CAPEX) and PP&E roll forwards
• Generate and review intercompany transactions and billing activities
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, including variance analysis and documentation
• Collaborate with operations and corporate teams to gather financial data
• Analyze month-over-month expense fluctuations and provide insight to business partners
• Support allocation of corporate costs such as insurance, royalties, and shared services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–2 years of accounting or financial analyst experience OR internship experience
• Recent graduates with 2+ accounting internships (summer or long-term) will be strongly considered
• Exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, or month-end close activities
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within an ERP system (Oracle strongly preferred)
• Background in oil & gas, energy, or industrial environments is a plus
• Familiarity with multi-entity or intercompany accounting
