Robert Half is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our consulting practice. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys tackling new challenges and thrives in a fast‑paced, client-facing environment. As a full-time consultant, you will provide accounting and finance support aligned with your skills and experience. Assignments vary in scope and typically range in duration from one month to one year.

This is a permanent, Portland, OR–based position that requires local travel to client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in department-wide initiatives such as process improvements, new procedure development, and system implementations
• Drive automation and efficiencies within accounting and financial reporting processes
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements
• Produce monthly consolidated P&L and balance sheet flux analysis for management reporting
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in collaboration with business partners
• Review and analyze financial results, including benchmarks, trends, and performance metrics
• Execute month-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, and reports) in accordance with GAAP

Requirements:

• 5+ years of general accounting experience
• Experience working with large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance required
• Strong general ledger expertise
• Foundational knowledge of budget forecasting
• In-depth experience with account reconciliations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver accurate, timely financial reports
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with functional managers
• Self-motivated and proactive professional who takes initiative and solves complex problems independently
