Job Description

The most constructive response to a student earning 99% is declining to round it up to 100%. Not from apathy — from conviction that they're capable of reaching the full mark, and that lowering expectations is the true disservice. If this reasoning resonates, continue reading. Students at Alpha don't passively attend lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your role ensures three commitments are fulfilled for every child in your group: genuine enthusiasm for school, accelerated learning at 2x velocity, and acquisition of capabilities beyond any textbook's scope. You simultaneously mentor the Guides responsible for delivering these outcomes throughout your campus.

Data informs every choice, and every interaction occurs in person. You divide your focus between your own student group and the Guides under your leadership — holding both to identical standards: quantifiable advancement, without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you skip the written documentation; instead, you observe directly, conduct a debrief, and implement corrections that same afternoon.

You'll observe reserved children presenting with confidence to adults. You'll witness a student who once "despised school" requesting to remain after hours. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their transformation, because upholding expectations demonstrates belief in someone's capacity to exceed them.

You may be establishing a completely new campus from the ground up, setting the cultural foundation that will characterize the institution. As operations mature, your emphasis transitions from startup execution to coaching leadership, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's framework throughout your territory.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour interactive life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering subjects such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's standardized framework
  • Conducting daily motivational programming that ensures 100% of students achieve their weekly application-based objectives through developmentally appropriate incentive structures including school currency and leaderboards
  • Developing Guides via direct observation, specific feedback, and practical training so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy to your own delivery
  • Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint those requiring intervention, then providing direct support
  • Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational approaches you require from all Guides

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress via adaptive applications; your responsibility is elevating the people who support them.
  • Presenting traditional classroom lectures. You operate as 80% motivator, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role won't suit you.
  • Compromising standards due to parent or administrative pressure. When a student achieves 99%, the response remains "not yet" — and you'll receive institutional support to maintain that position.
  • Spending time in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your hours involve direct engagement with students and Guides.
  • Awaiting extended cycles for performance evaluation. Outcomes appear live in Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.

Education Program Manager Key Responsibilities

Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides you develop: every child demonstrates genuine engagement with school, progresses at 2x standard velocity, and acquires tangible life competencies.

Basic Requirements

  • Currently residing in or prepared to relocate to Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred; conventional teaching certifications are not required)
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable fields
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
  • Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for recruitment and performance-based termination decisions
  • Documented experience coaching, mentoring, or providing developmental feedback to improve engagement and outcomes
  • Prior work with youth between ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts
  • Capability in leveraging data and performance metrics to inform decisions and drive ongoing improvement
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
  • History as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children toward quantifiable objectives
  • Experience developing adults in positions where performance was measured and evaluated
  • Confidence delivering presentations to large groups of children. The type of presence that commands attention from a room full of 8-year-olds.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
