Director of Finance

LHH is partnering with a growing mid-market, product-based organization seeking a Director of Finance to join its finance leadership team.

This highly visible role offers a unique opportunity to lead core FP&A activities while partnering closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, and operations. The position combines corporate financial planning, executive and board reporting, and business-facing finance support, providing broad exposure across the organization and a meaningful opportunity to influence decision making and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes

• Develop executive and board-level reporting, analysis, and presentations

• Partner with sales, operations, and business leaders to drive growth and profitability initiatives

• Deliver actionable insights on financial and operational performance

• Support strategic decision making through financial modeling and business analysis

• Provide support on treasury activities, cash flow planning, and strategic initiatives including M&A evaluation and integration efforts

• Lead and develop a small finance team while driving process improvements and business partnership

Qualifications

• Must be located in the Chicago area or able to reliably commute to the office on a hybrid schedule

• 7+ years of progressive finance, FP&A, or related experience

• Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or other product-based business environment required

• Demonstrated career progression and increasing levels of responsibility

• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analytical capabilities

• Experience partnering cross functionally with sales, operations, supply chain, and business leadership teams

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leadership audiences

• Prior experience supporting executive and board-level reporting preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $180,000 - $220,000

• Target bonus: 20%
