The Corporate Accountant will support the accounting and financial operations of a growing investment management and operating company. This role is responsible for core monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close support, expense reporting, invoicing, capital activity support, audit coordination, and selected tax-related deliverables.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive mindset for process improvement. This individual will help modernize accounting workflows by identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, automate recurring processes, enhance reporting quality, and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency, accuracy, and insight

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review general journal entries, cash journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries for the operating company and related entities.
• Maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules, including trial balances, capital account schedules, and monthly and quarterly close deliverables.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting activities.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare quarterly invoices and support accounts receivable activities.
• Assist with accounts payable processing and expense management workflows.
• Perform bank reconciliations and other recurring balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support external audit processes and respond to information requests.

AI, Automation & Technology Expectations

• Utilize advanced Excel functionality and modern accounting systems to improve reporting efficiency, quality, and consistency.
• Evaluate and implement workflow enhancements through automation tools, standardized templates, and system-based controls.
• Apply AI tools responsibly to assist with data analysis, reconciliations, support schedules, account activity reviews, documentation, and anomaly detection while maintaining appropriate oversight and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience supporting a U.S.-based, multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional organization.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
• Experience supporting external audits and tax compliance activities.
• Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, reconciliations, data validation, and development of efficient templates and schedules.
• Strong systems aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
• Demonstrated success improving processes through automation, standardization, and technology adoption.
