We are seeking a talented individual to join our Commercial Enablement CoE team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Specialist – Investments (Distribution Management & Oversight)
The Commercial Enablement CoE function supports US Wealth Sales Enablement business while supporting Mercer across multiple geographies & businesses. The Sales Enablement CoE supports the US Wealth Sales Enablement business and Mercer’s operations across multiple geographies and sectors. The role centers on conducting extensive secondary research to gather strategic client, competitor, and industry insights, which are then consolidated into presentations and client profiles for client-facing teams. It also involves providing competitive analysis, identifying market trends, and ensuring high-quality deliverables through rigorous peer review and attention to detail.
The Commercial Enablement Team sits within the Commercial pillar and works very closely with the Distribution Management & Oversight Team (DM&O). The Commercial Enablement Team is responsible for scoping and assessing new business requirements, including new distribution arrangements, new markets, non-standard solutions and bringing these through the commercial governance process. It will also be responsible for managing non-standard pricing, leading the International Commercial Governance Group and co-ordinating with the other regional commercial governance groups to ensure continued alignment. The team also has a product success role which is focused on having an infrastructure in place to support the commercial success of product launches.
We are seeking a highly self-motivated candidate with a good understanding of the financial services industry to join our growing team within the Commercial pillar at Mercer. The successful candidate will play a role in supporting the acceleration of commercial activity by supporting the work of the Commercial Enablement Team.

The Commercial Enablement Team is designed to drive best practice, consistency and innovation in how we approach commercial expansion. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting colleagues to facilitate Sales and Segment Leads and act as a centre of excellence across distribution focused topics including commercial prioritization and decision making, partnership opportunities, market and segment queries, research and scoping
- Provide critical support in managing and maintaining complex spreadsheets to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist in integrating new team procedures into the Business Resilience Management process.
- Support bespoke Pricing activities by assisting with data preparation and analysis.
- Assist with Board reporting activities, including preliminary data review and compilation.
- Contribute to product success initiatives by providing administrative and operational support.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support automation of routine procedures to enhance team efficiency.
- Experience using support tools such as MS Office, Smartsheet, SharePoint would be an advantage.
- Coordinate scheduling of team meetings, prepare agendas, and take detailed notes to support effective communication.
- Organize and manage International Commercial Governance Group meetings, including scheduling, minute-taking, reporting to stakeholders, following up on business cases, and distributing meeting materials.
- Develop knowledge and experience to assist in (and ultimately lead) scoping and documenting new business requirements.
What you need to have:
- 4-6 years of experience of secondary research, have the capability to research in detail and create concise output that supports effective project scoping.
- Ability to create effective decks supporting colleagues, stakeholders and various governance processes.
- Experience of regulatory compliance in investments will be an advantage. Ability to demonstrate effective communication when managing various stakeholders and project collaborators.
- Experience of sales support in Investments, including direct interaction with senior international stakeholders for delivery would be an advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate you are a good team worker, as deliverables will involve working with colleagues in multiple areas of the business and across different countries.
- Good communication skills to ensure issues clearly identified and explained to various interested parties
- Well structured, thorough and with attention to detail
- Proactive and outgoing, as the role would involve creating quality control processes, so will need to understand our approach and set up processes accordingly
