At the heart of this business is the Category team drivesgrowth, conversion, supply quality, pricing optimization, and customerexperience for the Alternate Accommodation business.
As a Lead CategoryManager, you will drive category growth by leveraging a strongunderstanding of consumer behaviour, demand patterns, pricing, and marketplacedynamics. You will be responsible for improving conversions, optimizingmargins, and enhancing overall business performance.
In this role, you will work extensively with large datasets toderive actionable insights and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.You will play a critical role in shaping strategy while also driving executionto effectively scale the category
Category Ownership and Growth Responsibility
- Owning category-level business metrics including conversionand transaction growth, and continuously identifying levers to improveperformance.
- Analyzing customer demand trends, traffic behavior, pricingcompetitiveness, and supply performance to uncover growth opportunities.
- Driving short-term and long-term business strategies forAlternate Accommodation.
- Collaborating with marketing teams on campaigns, promotions,and traffic planning initiatives.
- Working closely with supply and product teams to enhanceplatform conversion and overall customer experience.
- Monitoring and improving business KPIs through rigoroustracking and data-driven decision-making.
- Identifying new market opportunities, customer segments, andemerging travel trends.
- Supporting automation initiatives across pricing, reporting,and business alerts.
- Partnering with product teams to improve user journeys,search visibility, merchandising, and booking funnel performance.
- Conducting competitor benchmarking and deriving actionableinsights to strengthen category positioning.

- Developing dashboards, reports, and business insights usingmultiple data sources.
- Performing deep-dive analysis to understand drivers ofgrowth, conversion, cancellations, and customer engagement.
- Using SQL, Excel, and analytics tools to support businessdecisions and identify optimization opportunities.
- Translating complex datasets into clear, actionablerecommendations for stakeholders

- A masters degree from a reputed institute, along with 2 to 4 years of experience in managing a category within internet, e-commerce, travel organizations, or marketplace businesses
