Job Description
Oversee the definition and implementation of technical strategy and architectural vision for software development/engineering function.
Plan and lead the development of software products and product enhancements and provide strategic direction and leadership across multiple SQA, development, and release management teams. Oversee on-site and off-site development teams that develop and maintain large-scale software products, platforms, and systems.
Provide strategic guidance and direction over architectural, code, and design reviews for new software functionalities.
Oversee software build, release, deployment, and configuration management activities.
Provide strategic direction and leadership over software quality assurance initiatives, overseeing quality assurance policies, programs, initiatives, quality practices, and standards.
Verify that applications not only function as they should, but meet other important criteria around performance, security, and user needs.
Oversee the continual testing of software to identify and fix any defects or issues that arise.
Create an SQA management plan to define the ongoing processes that ensure software products meet and comply with the established and standardized quality specifications.
Provide leadership for establishing test knowledge base, including the establishment and maintenance of a common test repository.
Oversee the design of test methods, tools, plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, and comprehensive test coverage with an emphasis on automation.
Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
Ensure proper maintenance of reports and records, documenting audit results, change requests, test results, and review reports.
Develop strategies to define SQA methodology with metrics-driven continuous improvement. Analyze metrics and implement continuous process improvement across all operations.
Liaise with departmental leaders and executives for strategic planning purposes and when issues arise requiring interdepartmental coordination.
Work closely with and support the Project Management Office in the delivery and execution of strategic product roadmaps and operational activities.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Work Experience: Twelve years of related software development and quality assurance experience with at least five of those years in a leadership position. (Proficiency) Skill: (High) In-depth understanding of software development methodologies (High) Deep understanding of various software QA methodologies such as manual testing, automated testing, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (High) Critical thinking, strategic planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills (High) Ability to align software development initiatives with overall business objectives (High) Proficiency in various programming languages and technologies (High) Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (High) Knowledge of modern software architecture principles and patterns (High) Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships (High) Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage staff (High) Ability to inspire others to accomplish goals and maintain high standards of performance (High) Written and verbal communication skills (High) Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail (High) Ability to find innovative ways to solve technical challenges and resolve conflicts (High) Ability to understand requirements and translate them into concrete solutions (High) Flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes (High) Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook (High) Ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, competing priorities (High) Solution-oriented and proactive mindset with a willingness to learn
This role can pay between $220,000-225,000 + 30% bonus based on background and level of experience.
