Senior Credit Analyst

Location: Coral Gables, FL (Onsite)

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 Base Salary

Schedule: Full-time, onsite with occasional flexibility

Position Summary

A growing financial institution is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support commercial lending activities with a primary focus on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) credit underwriting. This role will be responsible for analyzing borrower financial performance, preparing credit recommendations for senior management and credit committees, and supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial clients. The position also provides mentorship and oversight to a Junior Credit Analyst.

The ideal candidate will have strong credit underwriting experience within a regulated financial institution and be comfortable analyzing both U.S. GAAP and IFRS-based financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive credit analysis and underwriting of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan transactions.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, liquidity, leverage, and working capital trends.
• Prepare detailed credit memorandums and recommendations for presentation to credit committees and senior management.
• Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring and risk assessment.
• Evaluate borrower performance, industry trends, and collateral structures.
• Support loan structuring, renewal, and annual review processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to a Junior Credit Analyst.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, lending officers, and risk management teams.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of credit analysis and underwriting experience within a regulated financial institution.
• Strong Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience.
• Advanced financial statement analysis skills, including both U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting.
• Experience preparing credit memorandums suitable for credit committee review.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in cash flow analysis, leverage assessment, and financial modeling.
• Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.
• Ability to draft business correspondence and credit documentation in Spanish.

Preferred

• Experience with Latin American borrowers and cross-border transactions.
• Knowledge of markets including Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, and Central America.
• Exposure to Trade Finance, including documentary collections, forfaiting, and discounting structures.
• Experience with insured accounts receivable financing and trade credit insurance programs.
• Familiarity with revolving short-term commercial financing facilities.
• Experience analyzing agribusiness sectors such as poultry, shrimp, aquaculture, fertilizer, feed, and food & beverage.
• Prior exposure to loan participation structures.
• MBA, CFA, FRM, or similar advanced credentials.

Leadership

• One direct report (Junior Credit Analyst).
• Previous management experience is not required; however, strong mentorship and leadership capabilities are expected.
