Role Description This full-time, on-site Sales Manager role is based at a Marriott Hotels property in Philadelphia, PA. The Sales Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing group, corporate, and leisure sales opportunities to meet or exceed revenue goals. Daily activities include prospecting and qualifying new accounts, conducting site visits and client presentations, preparing proposals and contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and key partners. The role collaborates closely with revenue management, events, and operations teams to optimize pricing, ensure seamless execution of group and event bookings, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Sales Manager also analyzes market trends and competitor activity, maintains accurate sales pipelines and reports, and represents the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hotel, hospitality, or related B2B sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and room-night targets.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, account management, contract negotiation, and closing sales.
  • Ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships, including corporate, group, travel agent, and event planner accounts.
  • Experience coordinating with operations, events, and revenue management teams to deliver successful group and event programs.
  • Comfort with using CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for forecasting and presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation and client-facing abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple accounts and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local Philadelphia market dynamics, competitor landscape, and hospitality trends is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site, attend client meetings and events, and travel locally or regionally as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
