Job Description
HTI is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for a new lithium-ion battery separator giga factory in Denver, NC. This hands-on position will support the development, optimization, and stabilization of coating and film manufacturing processes. This is a Direct Hire, M-F 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM position with approximately 50 hours per week. The salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.

What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience
- Professional Mandarin and English communication skills
- Experience with coating, film, battery materials, chemical processing, or another continuous manufacturing process
- Process troubleshooting, data analysis, validation, and continuous-improvement experience
- Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week in a startup environment
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Process Engineer will work directly with production, quality, R&D, equipment, and maintenance teams to improve process capability, product quality, yield, efficiency, and equipment performance. This person must be comfortable working on the production floor and training operators.
- Develop and optimize coating and film process parameters, workflows, and operating standards
- Monitor process stability, yield, defects, throughput, cycle time, and cost
- Troubleshoot production, material, process, and equipment issues and lead root cause analysis
- Support process validation, pilot trials, sampling, and new product introduction
- Transfer laboratory and R&D processes into mass production
- Support equipment installation, calibration, setup, and optimization
- Use SPC, DOE, capability studies, Lean, Six Sigma, and corrective-action tools
- Develop SOPs, work instructions, technical reports, and process documentation
- Train Process Technicians and production operators while supporting ISO, safety, and 5S requirements
