- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience supporting RHEL and Ubuntu systems with secure protocols like FIPS, and SELinux.
- Demonstrated experience hardening Linux systems to STIG, NIST 800-171, and CMMC Level 2 standards.
- Hands-on experience using Ansible, GitLab, and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling to manage Linux systems.
- Strong background in system administration, patch management, and backup/recovery.
- Experience mentoring junior administrators.
- Strong general IT foundation, including networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), troubleshooting methodology, and familiarity with ITIL-based practices such as incident, problem, and change management.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE, Security+).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Windows and MacOS support experience.
Job Description
Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers, with a focus on RHEL and Ubuntu distributions. Implement and manage security controls such as SELinux, FIPS mode, firewalls, and access policies. Harden Linux systems in line with STIG, NIST 800-171, and CMMC Level 2 compliance guidelines.
$40hr to $45/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
