Role Description The Assistant Director of Dining Operations is a full-time, on-site role located in Conyers, GA, responsible for supporting the overall management and direction of campus dining services. This role oversees daily food service operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow coordination to ensure efficient, high-quality service. The Assistant Director monitors customer satisfaction, resolves service issues, and collaborates with culinary and service teams to maintain consistent standards. Responsibilities include assisting with budget planning, cost control, inventory management, and vendor relationships, as well as analyzing operational data to improve performance. The role also involves training and mentoring team members, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and partnering with campus stakeholders to support student-focused dining initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including experience overseeing food service or hospitality operations and optimizing processes.
- Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to interpret financial, operational, and customer feedback data and support data-informed decision-making.
- Candidates should possess Team Management capabilities, including supervising staff, building collaborative teams, and supporting professional development.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting skills, including managing costs, assisting with forecasting, and monitoring financial performance.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, focusing on a positive guest experience, effective communication, and issue resolution.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, experience in higher education or large-scale dining environments, and familiarity with POS and dining management systems.
- Preferred education and experience include a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, along with progressively responsible leadership roles in dining or hospitality operations.
