What You'd Be Doing In This Role

Canva's SEO is world-class, and we're looking for a passionate SEO Outreach Specialist to join the International SEO team to help scale our next phase of growth in India! This is a 6-month contract, working full-time. (40 hours a week).

The SEO Outreach Specialist will be responsible for building high-quality backlinks that help to improve the SEO performance of important landing pages. You will work closely with the India SEO Country Lead (and our Global Outreach Lead) to set targets for the number of links needed to achieve top-ranking positions, identifying the most appropriate link-building tactics, building lists of relevant prospects, and executing the end-to-end outreach process in order to secure high-quality links.

We follow a completely white-hat approach to link building at Canva, requiring adherence to strict quality guidelines. While building quality links can be challenging, you'll benefit from a well-established, tried-and-tested playbook and ideation opportunities with the global outreach team.

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. The present description will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • You'll work with the SEO Country Lead (and Global Outreach Lead) to identify landing pages that would benefit from backlinks (on the India-focused English SEO pages that are currently www.canva.com, as well as the SEO pages of our Hindi subfolder www.canva.com/hi_in/), and agree targets for each campaign.
  • For each campaign, you'll identify a list of backlink prospects, following Canva's tried-and-tested outreach playbook.
  • You'll write and send quality outreach emails, tailored to the specific campaign and the prospect receiving the email.
  • You'll actively develop and maintain relationships with website owners, building an address book of contacts who can be leveraged for future campaigns.
  • You will maintain reporting spreadsheets to keep track of progress towards goals, and be responsible for communicating with your SEO Country Lead (and Global Outreach Lead) if you are not on track to reach goals.
  • You will support the continual improvement of the global outreach strategy by sharing learnings and insights with the wider outreach team.

You're probably a match if:

  • A fluent Hindi speaker with business-level English.
  • A positive, enthusiastic people person with good written communication skills.
  • Some experience working in a marketing-related field such as sales, PR, media or SEO.
  • We're a large team that relies on tried-and-tested processes to execute tasks quickly and efficiently. As such, this role will suit someone with high attention to detail and the ability to closely follow detailed written instructions.
