Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build Daskalos's SEO foundation from the ground up, establishing core technical standards, site architecture, on-page best practices, and content frameworks across Daskalos and partner university programme pages.
  • Actively build capabilities in Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), experimenting to improve visibility in AI-powered search surfaces such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.
  • Own keyword research and search intent mapping to build content roadmaps aligned with how prospective students discover and evaluate education options — across both traditional SERP and emerging conversational query patterns.
  • Run regular technical SEO audits — crawl health, Core Web Vitals, indexation, and mobile performance and coordinate with the Tech team to implement fixes in a structured, prioritised manner.
  • Work with the Content team to build topical authority for Daskalos and its universities, briefing and reviewing content optimised for search, positioning the brands in India, and laying the groundwork for AEO/GEO visibility over time.
  • Build a quality backlink profile through partnerships, outreach, and digital PR — improving domain authority as a long-term SEO asset.
  • Track and report on organic performance — rankings, CTR, impressions, and conversions — using Google Search Console, SEMrush or Ahrefs, and GA4; translate data into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Tech, Creative, and Content teams to execute SEO and early-stage AEO/GEO initiatives end-to-end; from technical implementation and structured data to content production, ensuring alignment and momentum across functions.
  • Stay current on the evolving AI search landscape, keeping a close eye on how generative engines are changing discovery behaviour and feeding those insights back into content and SEO strategy.
  • Support team capability-building, contributing to a culture of curiosity, testing, and continuous learning around both established SEO practices and emerging search trends.


Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in SEO, with a demonstrated track record of building and growing organic presence in a B2C or Ed-tech environment.
  • Genuine curiosity about and early exposure to AEO and GEO,awareness of how AI-powered search surfaces work and a desire to build expertise in this space; prior hands-on experience is a plus but not required.
  • Solid grounding in technical SEO: site architecture, schema markup, Core Web Vitals, indexation, and mobile performance; comfortable identifying issues and working with developers to resolve them.
  • Proficiency with core SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush or Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
  • Strong command of content strategy with ability to translate search intent (including AI query patterns) into actionable editorial briefs that build topical authority.
  • Experience working with engineering teams on large-scale CMS and web infrastructure; understanding of HTML, JavaScript rendering, and page speed optimisation is a strong advantage.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven with able to build dashboards, interpret multi-source search data, and draw actionable insights independently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to present strategy and performance to senior leadership clearly and compellingly.
  • Background in education technology or marketplace platforms is a significant advantage.
