Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL 5.7/8.0 on Linux-based systems.
- Perform database performance tuning, slow query analysis, and index optimization.
- Manage backup and recovery processes using mysqldump and Percona XtraBackup.
- Configure and support MySQL replication (Master-Slave, GTID replication) and high availability setups (InnoDB Cluster, Galera, MySQL Cluster).
- Operate and troubleshoot AWS-hosted MySQL databases (EC2 MySQL instances, AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL), including patching, upgrades, and security/privilege management.
Skills Required:
- 5-8 years of hands-on MySQL DBA experience.
- MySQL DBA experience (MySQL 5.7/8.0 administration in production environments).
- AWS cloud administration for databases (EC2, RDS, Aurora) and related services.
- Linux administration (Ubuntu/CentOS/RedHat) and operational support for database systems.
- Performance tuning and backup/recovery/disaster recovery practices for MySQL.
Good to Have:
- Percona MySQL or MariaDB exposure.
- Shell/Python scripting for automation.
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and monitoring tools (PMM, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering or equivalent.
