Role & responsibilities

• Provide financial counselling and guidance to patients and their families regarding treatment costs, estimates, and payment procedures.
• Explain hospital billing policies, insurance coverage, package details, and available financial assistance programs.
• Coordinate with insurance companies, TPAs, corporate clients, and internal billing teams for pre-authorizations and claim processing.
• Prepare and communicate accurate cost estimates for planned procedures, surgeries, and treatments.
• Assist patients in completing financial and insurance-related documentation.
• Ensure timely collection of advance payments, deposits, and pending dues as per hospital policies.
• Address patient queries and resolve concerns related to billing, insurance approvals, payment plans, and final settlements.
• Maintain accurate records of counselling discussions, approvals, payment status, and patient communications.
• Follow up on pending approvals, claims, and outstanding payments to minimize revenue leakage.
• Support patients with compassionate communication while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, insurance regulations, and documentation standards.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports related to patient counselling, collections, insurance status, and pending cases.
• Coordinate with the operations and finance team to improve patient experience and financial processes.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in hospital billing, insurance coordination, or patient counselling preferred.
