Job Description


Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Manager HR Operations to lead and manage end-to-end HR operations for the South Region from our Corporate Office at Lingarajapuram, Bengaluru. The incumbent will be responsible for managing a high-volume employee base, ensuring flawless HR OPerations ,, statutory compliance, employee lifecycle management, and HR systems administration across multiple states in South India. This is a critical delivery role requiring hands-on expertise in BFSI-scale HR operations, strong knowledge of labour laws, and the ability to manage complex multi-location payroll with precision and speed.

Key Responsibilities

PAYROLL MANAGEMENT

  • Own end-to-end HR operations handling for a high-volume employee base (3,000–10,000+ employees) across South Region states — Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs — attendance, leave, new joinee data, separations, LOP, and salary revisions — before each payroll run.
  • Manage payroll reconciliation, payslip generation, and salary account coordination with banking partners.
  • Ensure zero errors in payroll output — own and reduce payroll grievances month-on-month.

STATUTORY COMPLIANCE & LABOUR LAW

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable statutory requirements — PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus Act, Minimum Wages Act across all South Region states.
  • Manage timely filing of all statutory returns, challan payments, and annual returns — PF ECR, ESI half-yearly return, PT monthly challans, Form 16/16A.
  • Handle statutory inspections, labour department queries, and compliance audits without escalation.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of state-specific labour laws, professional tax slabs, and minimum wage revisions across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, AP, and Telangana.
  • Ensure Shops & Establishment Act registrations, renewals, and display compliance across all South Region branches and offices.

EMPLOYEE LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee onboarding operations — offer letter issuance, document collection, background verification (BGV) coordination, joining kit, HRMS ID creation, and bank account setup.
  • Manage confirmation processes — probation tracking, confirmation letters, and grade/designation updates in HRMS.
  • Handle transfers, promotions, and deputation letter issuance with accurate HRMS updates across all South Region employees.
  • Own the separation lifecycle — resignation acceptance, notice period management, NOC issuance, full & final computation, exit clearance, and relieving/experience letter issuance.
  • Manage employee data integrity in HRMS — ensure all records are current, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.

HR SYSTEMS, MIS & REPORTING

  • Maintain and improve HR dashboards — headcount MIS, attrition MIS, payroll cost reports, and compliance tracker for South Region leadership and Corporate HR.
  • Generate monthly payroll analytics, cost variance reports, and statutory compliance status reports.
  • Lead HRMS data management — act as the primary HRMS super-user for South Region; ensure accurate master data, leave balances, and employee records.
  • Support HR audits — internal, statutory, and Group Audit — by providing data, records, and documentation within defined timelines.

EMPLOYEE GRIEVANCES & HR SERVICE DELIVERY

  • Serve as the first point of escalation for payroll discrepancies, statutory queries, and employee lifecycle grievances from branches across South Region.
  • Ensure all HR operations queries are resolved within defined SLAs — salary queries within 24 hours, documentation requests within 48 hours.
  • Coordinate with Regional HRBPs, TA teams, and Finance/Accounts for seamless HR operations delivery.

Candidate Profile

EDUCATION

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resource Management from a recognised university (full-time preferred)
  • Additional certification in payroll, labour law, or HRMS will be an advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • 4 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in HR Operations
  • Mandatory: BFSI / Banking / NBFC industry background
  • Must have handled high-volume payroll (3,000+ employees)
  • South India HR operations experience strongly preferred
