About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in test automation across Telecom OSS/BSS systems, along with hands-on experience in modern automation frameworks and tools.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in automation and will actively contribute to building automation solutions, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and adopting GenAI-powered and agent-based testing workflows to enhance quality, efficiency, and delivery speed across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Framework Implementation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium (Java), Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Contribute to automation frameworks using POM (Page Object Model), BDD (Cucumber), and modular design principles.
  • Ensure automation coverage for UI, API, and integration testing scenarios.
  • Maintain reusable automation components and ensure stability and maintainability of automation suites.

Automation & CI/CD Enablement

• Develop and execute regression, smoke, and sanity automation test suites.
  • Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git) for continuous testing.
  • Perform API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright.
  • Ensure test data readiness, environment stability, and execution reliability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure early defect detection and faster feedback cycles.

GenAI-Driven and Agent-Based QA (Mandatory / Preferred)

• Mandatory: Actively use GenAI tools to enhance automation and QA activities such as:
  o Automation script generation and optimization
  o Test scenario creation from requirements, APIs, and user stories
  o Test data generation and edge-case identification
• Preferred: Exposure to agent-based testing workflows, where intelligent agents assist or autonomously:
  o Recommend regression coverage based on change impact
  o Enable self-healing automation scripts
  o Analyze execution results and suggest improvements
• Apply human-in-the-loop validation to ensure accuracy and reliability of AI-driven outputs.

Functional & Integration Understanding

• Understand business requirements and translate them into automation-ready test scenarios.
  • Validate end-to-end workflows, integrations, and system behaviors across OSS/BSS applications.
  • Perform backend validation using SQL queries and data verification techniques.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and architects to embed quality in the SDLC.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for test planning, execution, and defect resolution.
  • Provide clear updates on automation progress, risks, and quality metrics.

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing with strong focus on automation.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation using Selenium (Java) and/or Playwright.
  • Strong understanding of POM, BDD frameworks (Cucumber), and automation design principles.
  • Experience in API testing and integration validation.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and version control systems (Git).
  • Hands-on exposure to GenAI tools in testing or automation workflows.
  • Basic understanding of telecom OSS/BSS systems and integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with agent-based or autonomous testing models.
  • Familiarity with Python or JavaScript for automation development.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools, copilots, or internal QA agents.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as ALM, Octane, JIRA, Zephyr, or qTest.
  • ISTQB or relevant testing certifications.
  • Experience in Agile / DevOps delivery environments.
