  • Partner closely with the President and Operations leadership to improve margin performance, forecasting accuracy, and financial visibility
  • Lead all FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance analytics
  • Oversee project-based financial management including WIP reporting, percent-complete revenue recognition, job cost forecasting, and backlog modeling
  • Develop reliable cash flow forecasting processes aligned with milestone billing and large-contract execution
  • Provide financial insight and risk evaluation on major contracts, including projects exceeding $100M
  • Strengthen financial controls and operational discipline during rapid headcount and revenue growth
  • Build financial dashboards and performance metrics that increase accountability and improve decision-making
  • Evaluate and enhance the structure and scalability of the finance function and team.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance leadership while maintaining strong operational ownership within Mullins
  • Lead and manage Mullins’ relationship with the Kelso Finance team, serving as the company’s primary representative.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 10–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Direct experience in MEP, commercial construction, industrial construction, EPC, or large-scale project-based environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial oversight of large construction projects ($50M+ contracts preferred)
  • Deep expertise in project-based financial management, including WIP reporting, percent-complete revenue recognition, job cost forecasting, backlog analysis, and cash flow management within large-scale construction environments
  • Experience operating within high-growth environments, ideally in a private equity-backed organization
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams while partnering cross-functionally with operations
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence both field and corporate stakeholders
  • Travel to company jobsites and the Kelso corporate office as required to maintain effective financial leadership, oversight, and alignment.
  • Serve as the primary representative of Mullins in all interactions with the Kelso Finance team. The Mullins finance team is based in Carrollton, Georgia; if the VP of Finance is not locally based, regular travel to the Carrollton office multiple times per week is required.
