Systems Engineer

Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate - $35.00 - $40.00 (Depending on Experience – 40hr/week)


We seek a System Engineer to support our client’s core Oracle billing platform. Following a large-scale platform implementation, the team is focused on stabilization, enhancements, and continuous improvement. This individual will play a key role in reading and analyzing code, designing solutions, executing testing, and supporting data integrity efforts across the platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, curiosity to learn, and the ability to independently work through problem statements to deliver solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or related technical role
  • Experience with Java (ability to read and understand code required; development experience preferred)
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills (writing queries, analyzing datasets, executing scripts)
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar for work tracking
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned problem statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Bonus Requirements:

  • Exposure to Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF)
  • Experience with CC&B or similar enterprise billing systems
  • Familiarity with full-stack development concepts
  • Understanding of Meter-to-Cash processes
  • Experience with data repair, debugging, and issue resolution
  • Exposure to scripting or automation


Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze and interpret business and technical requirements to design effective solutions
  • Read and analyze Java code to understand system behavior and identify issues
  • Collaborate with development vendors (e.g., Accenture) to review and validate code and solutions
  • Create technical designs and solution approaches for assigned work tasks
  • Execute testing activities, including job execution within the CC&B platform
  • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage work items such as bugs and user stories
  • Write and execute SQL queries and scripts for analysis and data validation
  • Perform data repair activities by identifying inconsistencies and implementing solutions
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide root cause analysis
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across system performance and functionality
  • Gain deep understanding of CC&B and supporting technologies
