Job Overview:

This role leads IT Product Management for retail, marketing, and customer engagement technologies across in-store and digital channels. This role has responsibility for the enterprise IT Product Management. This position partners and directly influences business and technology leaders to align long term technology strategy with enterprise goals, leveraging data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to drive customer growth, personalization, and operational efficiency.

The SVP IT Product Management – Customer Engagement serves as a trusted advisor to executives, oversees end-to-end delivery of customer-facing platforms, and leads the transition to an agile, product- and capability-driven operating model shaping overall vision and strategy in functional area.

Key accountabilities include IT product team leadership, portfolio planning, budgeting (OPEX and CAPEX), vendor and supplier partnerships, and the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence and automation—to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact business outcomes in collaboration with internal teams and external strategic partners.

Essential job functions

• Leadership and Strategic Alignment: The SVP leads IT Product Management teams and collaborates with business leaders to align technology strategies with enterprise goals, ensuring delivery of customer engagement solutions driven by data, analytics, and AI. This role also involves acting as a trusted advisor to executives and fostering innovation and continuous improvement within IT leadership.
• Operational and Financial Oversight: Responsibilities include portfolio planning, budgeting (OPEX and CAPEX), resource planning, and governance, working closely with the VP of IT Planning & EPM and the IT PMO to manage execution and demand planning. The SVP also oversees project sequencing and feasibility through transparent trade-off analysis.
• Technology and Vendor Management: The role entails evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, including AI and automation, managing the technical planning and production support of customer engagement platforms, and establishing strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive innovation and operational excellence. This role will support our AI Transformation Group and partner with our AI Engineering Center Of Excellence.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate has over 25 years of experience in retail technology and customer analytics, with strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. They are proficient in Agile methodologies, product-centric delivery models, and have a proven track record of managing complex portfolios and building high-performing teams.

This role requires 25+ years of experience defining, implementing, and supporting in-store frontend (POS) and operations Orchestration, Order and Inventory Mgt, digital marketing, multi-channel ecommerce, retail media network and personalization and customer analytics solutions, encompassing both software selection and strategic solution development; broader retail ERP and ITIL experience essential to partnering and shaping long-term IT strategy and operating models.

This role is designed as a successor to our Chief Technology Officer and is located in our Store Support office in Phoenix, AZ.
