Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Seaport District, Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Compensation: Up to $135,000, commensurate with experience

Position Overview

A highly regarded professional services organization is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its Finance & Accounting team. This role is responsible for firm-wide tax compliance, planning, and reporting, and serves as a key resource for federal, state, and local tax matters. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings, including partnership and multi-state returns
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and related reporting
  • Coordinate estimated tax payments, extensions, and compliance calendars
  • Monitor tax law changes and evaluate potential impacts to the organization
  • Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies
  • Support tax-related audits, inquiries, and examinations
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and process improvements
  • Collaborate with accounting, payroll, and leadership teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA required
  • 6–10+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Background in professional services, public accounting, or complex partnership structures preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation
  • Experience with multi-state tax matters
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a hybrid work environment
