Role Responsibilities
You will contribute to the transformation of Western Union’s ecosystem by incorporating lessons learned from incidents, improving platform performance, and advancing us toward a more modern, future ready architecture. Your work will help deliver compliant, seamless, and cost effective payment experiences across channels and regions. This role is key to building a best in class remittance payments platform and enabling global money movement at scale.
Product Ownership & Execution
- Own one or more payment platform capabilities across their full lifecycle, from discovery and solution design to development, testing, launch, and ongoing optimization.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, making priority decisions grounded in business value, customer impact, and operational needs.
- Serve as a steward of platform investment by monitoring performance, identifying risks, and managing total cost of ownership.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear product specifications and work closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and compliance partners.
Platform Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Drive platform resilience and reliability by leveraging insights from incidents, escalations, and operational data.
- Shape strategic initiatives that improve scalability, performance, and compliance across the payments ecosystem.
- Analyze industry trends and market dynamics to ensure Western Union remains competitive and innovative.
Cross Functional Leadership
- Build strong relationships with engineering, operations, compliance, data, and commercial teams to execute product initiatives effectively.
- Refine and reinforce agile and end to end product development practices within the product domain.
- Educate internal stakeholders on product vision, roadmap, platform capabilities, and desired future state.
Metrics, Reporting & Communication
- Create and communicate KPI/OKR dashboards and executive ready reporting.
- Clearly articulate product decisions, tradeoffs, and rationales to technical and non technical audiences.
- Support change management by preparing teams for new releases, processes, or capability enhancements.
Culture & Innovation
- Model Western Union’s values around engagement, inclusion, customer focus, and collaboration.
- Act as a champion of innovation identifying opportunities to pilot new approaches, tools, or technologies.
Role Requirements
- 7+ years of experience of product management experience in Financial Services, preferably payments or a related technical domain.
- Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep understanding of the global payments landscape, including cards, ACH, real-time payments, wallets, and cross-border rails
- Drive platform scalability and reliability, ensuring uptime, resiliency, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as authorization rates, transaction success rates, settlement speed, and processing costs.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Finance, and regional business teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with local regulations and business priorities.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $150,000 - $175,000 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
