Position Overview


A well-established, financially stable organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Investment Accounting to serve as a subject matter expert and leader within its corporate accounting function. This role plays a critical part in overseeing investment accounting and reporting activities across multiple accounting frameworks, supporting executive leadership, regulatory reporting, and external stakeholders.


The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in investment accounting, strong leadership capability, and experience working within complex, highly regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for investment accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting
  • Oversee investment accounting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and IFRS
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to investment portfolios
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, including preparation and review of investment-related schedules and disclosures
  • Provide technical guidance on investment transactions, accounting standards, valuation, and income recognition
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and support audit readiness
  • Partner cross-functionally with investment teams, treasury, finance leadership, and internal/external auditors
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed
  • Support executive and board-level reporting by delivering clear and accurate financial insights


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on investment accounting
  • 5+ years of people leadership or senior-level oversight experience
  • Experience within regulated financial services environments strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP; working knowledge of SAP and IFRS
