We’re looking for a senior, hands‑on SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Architect to play a key role in how master data is designed, governed, and integrated across a large enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of architecture, data, and delivery and wants to be directly involved in shaping solutions, not just advising from a distance.
This is an individual contributor role. You’ll be deeply embedded with data and engineering teams, partnering closely to bring structure, stability, and clarity to a complex MDM ecosystem.

The organization operates within a highly integrated master data environment that includes SAP MDG alongside product and data platforms. Today, MDM primarily supports SKU and Vendor data, with Customer data continuing to expand across multiple downstream systems.
With growing data volumes, numerous integrations, and known stability challenges in parts of the ecosystem, this role exists to bring stronger architectural guidance and help establish reliable, well‑governed master data flows.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll start by learning the current application landscape and understanding how master data moves across systems. From there, you’ll help define how data should be structured, governed, and integrated, while working side‑by‑side with developers and data teams to support execution.
This role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on contribution. It’s not people management and not a purely theoretical architecture role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding end‑to‑end master data flows across enterprise systems
- Advising on master data governance, structure, and integration design
- Acting as a technical thought partner to architects, engineers, and data teams
- Identifying architectural gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Supporting both short‑term delivery needs and longer‑term MDM strategy
Master Data Domains
You’ll work across three core master data pillars within SAP:
Customer
Large volumes of customer data flowing across multiple downstream systems
Vendor
SAP MDG plays a critical role, with a strong focus on improving and maturing vendor data quality
SKU
A combination of SAP MDG and PIM/DAM platforms (specific platform experience is not required)
What We’re Looking For
This role requires real, hands‑on SAP MDG experience.
Ideal candidates have:
- Strong SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) experience across Customer, Vendor, and SKU domains
- Experience in retail or B2B environments with large, complex data volumes
- Comfort working with enterprise systems and multiple integrations
- A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with development teams
- The ability to quickly learn new platforms and environments

- Learn applications, data architecture, and integration points
- Understand where data is captured and how it flows end‑to‑end
- Begin advising teams on improved data flow and governance design
