Sales Performance Analyst I

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:

Analyzes sales programs and activities; extracts and compiles data to determine actual and evaluates projected revenue, volume, cost, and income for Postal products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collects and analyzes revenue, volume, cost, income and other data to measure the financial impact of sales activities on new products, services, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other related initiatives.

2. Maintains databases and develops queries that track and report on the actual and projected revenue for products and services.

3. Analyzes the data to develop data reports on projected revenue, volume, cost, income and other related business plan data.

4. Makes recommendations for further quantitative and qualitative analysis, identifies different sets of data to pull and compare for further research.

5. Monitors, validates and assesses initiatives against anticipated sales performance results. Researches and assists in the development of quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques for evaluating new business initiatives.

6. Assists in developing sales tracking procedures to ensure revenue validation to be used by field sales.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledge of financial analysis techniques, including forecasting, trends, and performance analysis.
2. Ability to develop and maintain an electronic database using a spreadsheet application.
3. Knowledge of financial and sales tracking systems sufficient to pull and manipulate the data.
4. Ability to construct and run queries to analyze sales, revenue and volume data.
5. Ability to create and maintain reports using reporting applications.
6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to develop summaries of analysis and present program plans.
