EY’s Enterprise Risk – Process & Controls practice supports leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) companies as they scale complex, platform-based business models within increasingly sophisticated finance and risk environments.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, this role focuses on risk transformation within finance and revenue ecosystems, supporting organizations with complex revenue models (subscription, usage-based, multi-element). As companies modernize systems and scale operations, they require integrated approaches to risk, accounting, and system design.
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to support the execution of risk transformation across finance and revenue systems, working with engagement teams and client stakeholders to help embed controls into processes and platforms.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, you will execute key activities within risk transformation engagements, supporting delivery across workstreams and contributing to overall engagement objectives.
You will:
- Execute tasks and deliverables within risk transformation engagements, including revenue systems, process redesign, and control implementation
- Work with client stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, RevOps) to support execution of project activities
- Assist in documenting and implementing process and control frameworks across the revenue lifecycle
- Support integration of controls within ERP, billing, and revenue platforms
- Perform analysis to support revenue reconciliation and data alignment improvements
- Contribute to risk and control considerations within system implementations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, RevOps, and engineering
- Support engagement teams in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality outputs
- Execute SOX walkthroughs, control testing, and process narrative documentation, including preparation of evidence and IPE packages and support for ITGC testing (logical access, change management, SDLC)
- Foundational understanding of accounting, revenue operations, and risk/control concepts
- Ability to translate requirements into actionable tasks and outputs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and ability to work with client teams
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with 2–4 years of experience in risk consulting, accounting, audit, or related roles
- Exposure to SOX 404 compliance activities, including process walkthroughs, control testing procedures, and risk and control matrix (RCM) documentation
- Experience supporting Technology, Media, or Telecommunications (TMT) organizations or clients
- Foundational experience with revenue accounting (e.g., ASC 606) and related finance processes
- Experience supporting finance systems, process improvement, or control-related projects
- Exposure to or experience working with Revenue Operations (RevOps) processes
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and/or revenue/billing platforms (e.g., Zuora, Salesforce CPQ/Billing, Stripe, or similar)
- Experience working with data and reconciliation processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with client stakeholders and project teams
- Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, with hybrid expectations (2–3 days onsite); willingness to travel ~50%, work extended hours as needed, and hold a valid passport
- Progress toward certifications such as CPA, CIA, PMP, or similar
- Experience working with revenue processes in high-growth environments
- Familiarity with complex revenue models (subscription, usage-based, multi-element)
- Exposure to risk and control frameworks within finance systems
We are seeking candidates with interest or experience beyond traditional internal audit or compliance environments, with exposure to accounting, risk, and finance systems.
- Understand fundamentals of risk within finance processes
- Connect accounting, systems, and controls at a foundational level
- Thrive in fast-paced environments
- Communicate effectively within engagement teams and with clients
