Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead the revenue accounting function for a growing, private equity-backed company in the Greater Philadelphia area. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader with deep expertise in ASC 606 and advanced SAP knowledge. The Revenue Accounting Manager will oversee a team of Senior Accountants and partner closely with the Corporate Controller and cross-functional leaders to ensure accurate revenue recognition, timely reporting, and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of revenue accounting and revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Oversee accounting for long-term contracts, percentage-of-completion accounting, change orders, claims, retainage, and other construction-specific revenue considerations
• Review customer contracts and assess appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP
• Partner with operations, project management, legal, and finance teams to evaluate contract terms, modifications, and project-related accounting impacts
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of four professional-level Senior Accountants
• Ensure effective internal controls over revenue processes and maintain readiness for external audit and compliance requirements
• Support technical accounting analyses and documentation related to revenue recognition matters
• Drive process improvements and enhance the use of SAP for revenue reporting, reconciliations, and operational efficiency
• Assist with the reporting, control, and process demands of a private equity-backed environment
• Prepare revenue reporting and analytics for senior leadership and the Corporate Controller

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting require
• CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
• Strong architectural, engineering, or construction industry accounting experience is require
• SAP experience is highly preferred
• Prior people management experience with professional-level accounting staff preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal control
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skill
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
