Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, and developing go-to-market strategies with distribution partners across an assigned territory. This role supports Generac's full portfolio, including generators, light towers, DR Power, and Mean Green products.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow sales and market share within assigned distributor and dealer networks
- Develop and execute territory business plans and sales strategies
- Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with key decision-makers
- Conduct market research and analyze competitive activity
- Support new product launches, promotional programs, and marketing initiatives
- Deliver product training and sales presentations to customers and partners
- Strengthen existing accounts while expanding sales of new product offerings
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Credit, and Operations teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer issues, order management, and account support
- Track territory performance and provide regular sales and market feedback
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales, territory management, or channel partner experience
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience developing strategic sales plans and growing key accounts
- Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of related sales experience
- Experience in power generation, light towers, construction equipment, industrial equipment, or related industries
- Experience supporting regional or national distribution partners
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel up to 60%.
