Project Manager - Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation Strategy & Planning

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid Onsite)

Position Type: 12-Month Contract (Potential for extension or conversion to permanent)

Compensation: Market Rate (Competitive based on experience)


About the Role

In this role, you will oversee and drive high-level planning and execution across Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation (MA&EG) for indications spanning from early development through commercialization.

As part of our Strategy & Planning team, you will drive strategic alignment, integrated evidence planning, cross-functional connectivity, and governance clarity to ensure the delivery of coordinated, high-impact, patient-centered outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Operations

  • End-to-End Coordination: Facilitate MA&EG indication meetings (including in-person sessions), ensuring effective planning, documentation, and rigorous follow-through.
  • Strategic Oversight: Support the creation, maintenance, and operational oversight of Integrated Evidence and Data Generation Plans (IEGPs), ensuring alignment with Asset and Indication Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSMs).
  • Timeline & Execution: Build and manage project timelines, trackers, dashboards, and documentation to ensure maximum visibility and timely execution.
  • Communication: Maintain organized team communication channels and ensure consistent dissemination of relevant project materials.

Financial & Resource Planning

  • Budgeting Support: Partner with indication teams during Beyond Budgeting cycles, contributing to financial tracking and forecasting alongside functional and finance owners.
  • Resource Allocation: Collaborate with functional leads to assess operational and resource needs to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Goal Setting: Actively contribute to annual corporate and team goal-setting activities.

External Engagement & Vendor Oversight

  • KOL & Advisory Boards: Partner with MA&EG and functional owners to plan, coordinate, and execute Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagements, advisory boards, and scientific external interactions in full compliance with internal standards.
  • Vendor Management: Lead operational coordination of third-party vendors, ensuring strict adherence to scope, timelines, and quality delivery.

Infrastructure & Community Building

  • Knowledge Management: Maintain team knowledge repositories and collaboration infrastructure to enable transparency, continuity, and optimized workflows.
  • Onboarding & Culture: Lead the onboarding of new MA&EG community members. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks, surface insights, and translate lessons learned into actionable process improvements.


Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to mediate conflict and build inclusive, highly collaborative cross-functional team environments.
  • Agility: A resilient mindset with the ability to thrive and pivot gracefully amid continuous change.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Tools & Methodologies: Advanced proficiency with modern Project Management tools.


Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a health-related discipline.
  • Project Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated project management experience across distinct phases of drug development and diverse disease areas. Preference given to candidates with strong experience in post-approval phases, Phase IV, and Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Program/Project Management experience within a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology environment.
  • Global Context: Experience working within cross-cultural and global matrix environments is highly preferred.
  • Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is considered a strong advantage.
