OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Directs the activities of multiple processes with the goal of maximizing efficiency and profit for Plastic Products and Shipping.
PREFERRED RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION – OPERATIONS:
- Builds and develops operations organization, processes, and procedures to support strategic direction.
- Establishes operations initiatives for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee relations.
- Establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- Establishes manufacturing policies in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, materials usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.
- Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and practices throughout the organization.
- Builds, develops, and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Oversees operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
- Handles problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Exhibits technical skills in Lean Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, freight and distribution, materials management and production scheduling.
- Leads employee training, development, and succession planning.
- Exhibits strong customer orientation.

- Required – BS/BA in Engineering or Industrial Management
- Required – 5 -7 years of industrial management experience
- Required – Experience with developing Operational, Expense, and Capital Budgets
- Required – Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

- Preferred – Experience CNC Cutting Machines/Automation
- Preferred – Experience in operations that require assembly related processes with high dexterity
- Preferred – Experience with Dupont STOP Safety Program
- Preferred – Experience in developing productivity rates and standards
- Preferred – Experience with ISO systems management
- Preferred – Experience with Lean Manufacturing, either implementation and/or management
- Preferred - Experience in Shipping Department
