Job Description

Only qualified Point of Sale (POS) Test Analyst candidates located near the Columbus Ohio 43230 area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Business Analytics or related field

Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities

  • Retail experience is required
  • Hands on experience testing POS transactions and retail workflows
  • Experience designing and executing test scenarios for sales returns exchanges refunds promotions discounts tax calculations and tender types
  • Experience validating POS integrations with OMS inventory pricing promotions loyalty and payment systems
  • Strong understanding of retail business processes including sales returns promotions and inventory
  • Ability to validate data using SQL queries
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Waterfall Iterative and Agile
  • Experience working with multiple teams and resources
  • Experience working in onshore offshore delivery models
  • Experience with test and defect management tools such as HP ALM and JIRA
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments
  • Proactive and quality focused mindset
  • Test case design execution and defect tracking
  • Hands on POS testing experience including sales returns and integrations
  • Knowledge of testing types including smoke regression integration and end to end testing

Role

The Test Analyst role will be part of the QA Team. This position is part of a high performing quality assurance team participating in the delivery of quality software. The team works cross functional in an onshore/offshore model to support the testing activities. The position reports administratively to a QA Manager. This role is responsible for test preparation and test execution activities on projects. This role requires oversight from test lead and QA manager and will partner and collaborate with application teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in functional and technical design reviews to ensure understanding of relevant business processes, technologies, and architectures.
  • Creates or modifies test scenarios and test cases that are in alignment with functional requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate test data is defined and available in the test environment
  • Executes and statuses test cases, including proof of testing.
  • Clearly document defects, and retests fixes in a timely manner in required test management tool.
  • Effectively communication progress and status to test lead/manager.
  • Deliver quality work to meet the needs of application teams and business partners.
  • Work in a collaborative project environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Assists in driving issues to closure.
  • Complete assignments on time in accordance with the priorities identified by the test lead.
