At Lummus Technology, innovation thrives, and excellence is a shared pursuit. When you join Lummus, you are empowered to make an impact and be part of a dynamic team that celebrates creativity, encourages professional development, and fosters collaboration.

From our technology portfolio to our global workforce, Lummus is growing at a rapid pace, and we hope that you will grow with us during this exciting time.

You’re the kind of person who walks into a room and immediately sees how to make it better — more organized, more intentional, more on brand. You love the craft of communications as much as you love the operational engine that makes it hum. You’re a natural connector: of people, of projects, of ideas that deserve to be seen and heard.

We’re building something here. A communications and marketing function that doesn’t just support the business — it elevates it. As a company at an exciting inflection point — with a growing footprint, a sharpening brand, and a story worth telling — we're investing in the infrastructure, the moments, and the people that bring that story to life.

As our Manager, Communications Operations & Events, you’ll be the operational backbone of a high-performing team — ensuring our projects move with purpose, our events make a lasting impression, and our brand shows up consistently and powerfully across every touchpoint. You’ll bring calm to complexity, quality to every deliverable, and momentum to every initiative — often before anyone has to ask. You’ll manage and mentor one talented Events Specialist, and you’ll be a force multiplier for the entire communications and marketing team.

If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, geek out over a well-built project plan, believe a beautifully branded event can change how the world sees a company, and love the idea of being the person a team relies on to make things happen — we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Communications Operations

  • Own the communications team’s operational infrastructure, project management systems, editorial calendars, workflows, and processes, continuously identifying and implementing efficiencies that improve speed, quality, and team performance.
  • Serve as the team’s project management lead: tracking timelines, managing deliverables, and keeping cross-functional stakeholders aligned and accountable across multiple simultaneous initiatives.
  • Partner closely with senior communications leadership to translate strategy into execution, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and every initiative lands on time and on message.
  • Establish and maintain standards, templates, and tools that drive consistency across the team’s work.
  • Support communications content needs as a capable writer and editor, contributing to internal announcements, event collateral, talking points, and brand materials when needed, always maintaining the team’s quality bar.
  • Serve as a motivating, solutions-oriented peer who helps teammates stay focused, energized, and moving toward the finish line.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Events & Brand Experiences

  • Lead end-to-end planning, logistics, and execution for corporate conferences, trade shows, investor events, employee engagements, and executive forums, both in-person and virtual.
  • Manage and mentor one Events Specialist, providing clear direction, coaching, and meaningful development opportunities.
  • Own event budgets with precision: tracking spend, negotiating with vendors, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maximizing ROI without compromising quality or brand integrity.
  • Ensure every event is a genuine brand experience, from signage and swag to staging and speaker prep, representing the company with the polish and professionalism of a market leader.
  • Build and manage vendor relationships, including venues, AV, catering, branded merchandise, and production partners.
  • Develop and track event metrics and post-event reporting to continuously improve performance and demonstrate business impact.
  • Travel to events as needed to provide on-site leadership and ensure flawless execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing operations, and events management is required; ideally within a corporate or publicly traded company environment.
  • Proven corporate marketing/communication project management expertise is required: you’ve managed complex, multi-stakeholder corporate marketing/communication initiatives and have the systems, habits, and track record to prove it.
  • Familiarity with tools like Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail, tone, and brand voice, you can roll up your sleeves on content when the team needs it.
  • Event planning and logistics excellence; A demonstrated track record of event planning and logistics excellence, including budget management, vendor negotiations, and on-site execution across a range of event types and sizes.
  • Brand standards and visual storytelling, you know the difference between an event that communicates and one that just occupies space.
  • Budget management skills, you’re equally comfortable building a budget from scratch and stretching every dollar strategically.
  • Proactive, self-starting mindset, you anticipate needs, close loops, and drive projects forward without being asked. You’re the person people count on.
  • People management experience managing or mentoring direct reports, with a collaborative, people first leadership style.

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, event management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Why Join Us

  • You’ll be joining a team that believes in the power of communications to shape how a company is perceived, trusted, and valued, by investors, employees, media, and the public. This is a role where your operational excellence and event instincts will have real, visible impact. You’ll have room to grow, a team that supports you, and leadership invested in your success.
