Location: Hybrid 2x/week at 3940 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60613


Pay Range: $80,000-$110,000 annually


About the Role:

Successful candidates will have at least 6+ years of litigation support experience. Candidates who also have complex commercial litigation, employment, and/or eDiscovery experience will have a significant advantage. The Paralegal will be responsible for general support to the Guaranteed Rate Companies’ legal department. The ideal candidate must be service-oriented with a professional, diplomatic, efficient, and resilient demeanor and have the ability to handle a broad variety of complex matters, both legal and business-related.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support on a range of litigation matters, including file organization, docket management, calendar updates, document collection and production, deposition support, pleading preparation and filing, witness interviews, and fact-gathering.
  • Support e-Discovery efforts across matters.
  • Assist with trials and arbitration hearings, including management and preparation of exhibits, demonstratives, and other file materials.
  • Support judgment collection and recovery efforts.
  • Review and draft correspondence relating to litigation, compliance, and business issues.
  • Support transactions team, including through creation and tracking of transactional documents and assistance in preparation of attorney opinion letters.
  • Review and prepare of responses to subpoenas, investigative demands, and other external information requests.
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with internal departments (e.g. HR, compliance, accounting, and others) to gather necessary information for legal requests.
  • General administrative support as needed and assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Significant experience with litigation support
  • Preference given to candidates with in-house experience
  • Experience in the financial services industry, especially mortgage, is a plus.
  • Excellent business writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, document management, and task prioritization, and detail orientation.
  • Excellent skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and managing computer databases.
