Consilio’s Direct Hire client is seeking a detail‑oriented Litigation Paralegal to support its eminent domain/condemnation practice in Atlanta, Georgia. This role supports attorneys handling litigation and transactional matters related to government takings of private property.
This is a full‑time, onsite position in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with condemnation matters from case inception through resolution.
- Prepare, draft, and file pleadings, discovery, motions, and related litigation documents.
- Manage large volumes of case materials, including property records, appraisals, and title documents.
- Review and summarize deeds, easements, plats, surveys, and other real estate documents.
- Maintain case calendars and track critical deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses (appraisers, engineers), and government entities.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
- Conduct basic legal and property research.
- Assist with investigations and fact development.
- Perform cite‑checking in coordination with co‑counsel.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by attorneys or leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or legal department.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with condemnation/eminent domain, real estate disputes, or title matters preferred.
- Strong understanding of real estate documents and related terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation files and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Trial experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Position Details
- Billable Requirement: 1,500 hours annually
- Core Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m (37.5 hours per week)
- Overtime: as needed, including some weekends during trial periods
- Travel: occasional trial‑related travel; typically minimal
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 (flexible based on experience)
