Thompson Hine LLP, an Am Law 200 firm regularly recognized for our commitment to Innovation and Inclusion, is seeking a full-time Legal Talent Coordinator in either our Chicago or Los Angeles office.


As a member of the Firm’s Talent Management (“TM”) team, the Legal Talent Coordinator works closely with the Managers of Legal Talent and Senior Law School Recruiter to support the Firm’s lateral and law school recruiting efforts firmwide.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lateral Recruiting Support

  • Maintains all candidate records within the applicant tracking system, including entering and updating applicant information, uploading application documents, candidate status tracking and generating reports.
  • Coordinates all aspects of candidate interviews, including booking conference rooms, catering and candidate travel arrangements, as needed. Circulates interview schedules and reminders and collects post-interview evaluations/feedback.
  • Participates in behavioral panel interviews for associate candidates.
  • Drafts offer letters (employed lawyers) and processes all diligence.
  • Supports attorney orientation and integration by:
  • Launches and monitors onboarding events in RedCarpet, the Firm’s web-based onboarding platform.
  • Creates Employment Status Publications (“ESPs”) for new attorney hires to alert staff departments of an incoming hire.
  • Drafts welcome emails for new lateral lawyers.
  • Coordinates orientation schedules for new attorney hires.


Law School Recruiting & Summer Program Support

The Legal Talent Coordinator will provide support to the Senior Law School Recruiter for the Firm’s On-Campus Interviewing and Summer Program recruiting efforts, as needed, in the following areas:

  • Assists with OCI registration at law schools.
  • Resume review.
  • Schedules screening and call back interviews, and collecting feedback.
  • Participates in behavioral panel interviews for summer associate candidates.
  • Plans and attends occasional summer program events.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend regularly scheduled Talent Management team meetings and periodic industry conferences.
  • Join and participate in a recruiting peer group (virtual or local).
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties not defined above, such as invoice coding and processing.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two+ years of administrative experience.

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working with vi by Aderant, or a similar applicant tracking system, is strongly preferred.
  • Spreadsheet and database experience required; intermediate functions of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.
  • This position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., copiers, fax machines, etc.).
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette are mandatory.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

  • This position requires the employee to work at a specified location and hours determined by the Manager for the benefit of the department and firm adhering to the firm’s hybrid work policy. Changes to the location and/or scheduled hours must be approved by the Manager.


Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The estimated salary ranges for Chicago are $59,000 to $74,000 and Los Angeles are $64,500 to $80,500.
