Overview Of Role
The IT Finance Manager serves as the primary liaison between Information Technology and Finance, leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management across the firm's global technology organization. Partnering closely with IT leadership and Corporate Finance, this role provides strategic financial insights that support technology investments and business priorities.
The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end IT budget lifecycle, including annual planning, variance analysis, spend management, and financial reporting. In addition, they will provide oversight of IT asset management, procurement, vendor relationships, and contract management activities to ensure effective governance, compliance, and value realization.
This role also leads and develops a small team, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial transparency, operational efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of the technology function.
Key Responsibilities
IT Budget Management & Corporate Finance Collaboration
- Own and drive the annual IT budget process, working closely with the Senior Director of Global IT and the corporate Finance team to develop, submit, and manage the IT budget
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT Finance and the corporate Finance team, ensuring alignment on reporting, forecasting, cost centre allocation, and financial governance
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of IT spend against financials reported by Finance, investigating and resolving variances
- Provide accurate and timely IT budget reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting to senior stakeholders
- Partner with IT leadership to track capital and operating expenditure against approved budgets and flag risks for overspend proactively
- Support finance-led initiatives such as audits, cost reviews, and year-end processes as they relate to IT spend
- Manage, coach, and develop assigned personnel, setting clear objectives and conducting regular performance reviews
- Provide day-to-day guidance, workload prioritization, and quality oversight for the IT finance and procurement function
- Support the onboarding, training, and professional growth of direct reports
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT Asset Management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Oversee the full lifecycle management of hardware and software assets, from procurement through to disposal
- Ensure software license compliance across all corporate-owned titles and maintain accurate license entitlement records
- Define and enforce ITAM best practices in line with industry standards and internal audit requirements
- Partner with IT teams and Finance to ensure asset data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with financial reporting requirements
- Organizes and tracks IT procurement activities across hardware, software, and services, including contract dates and relevant information in each contract
- Oversee vendor management activities including arranging and running quarterly business reviews, and escalation management
- Reviews key contracts as renewals approach or as amendments are needed and coordinates the renewal or amendment process with the Senior Director of IT or Global CIO
- Will assist as needed in contract negotiations at the request of the Senior Director of IT or the Global CIO
- Ensure procurement processes, policies, and workflows are maintained, documented, and continuously improved
- Conduct regular market analysis to ensure the firm receives competitive pricing and maximizes value from its vendor relationships
- Oversee the management of L.E.K.'s wireless mobile device accounts, including vendor relationships and cost optimization
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with IT leadership, business and finance stakeholders
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, translating complex financial and procurement information into clear, actionable insights
- Represent IT Finance & Procurement in cross-functional meetings and project initiatives, ensuring procurement and financial considerations are addressed early
- Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities across vendor, contract, procurement, and financial management processes
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, technology finance, IT budgeting, corporate finance, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, forecasting processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, cost management, and budget governance.
- Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and influence decision-making through financial insights.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
- Background supporting a technology organization, IT function, or technology-related cost center.
- Knowledge of IT procurement, vendor management, contract administration, and technology asset management practices.
- Experience operating within a professional services, consulting, or other global matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated leadership of direct reports, cross-functional teams, or business initiatives.
- Familiarity with software licensing, technology investment planning, and financial governance frameworks.
- Professional certifications in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, or IT Asset Management are a plus (e.g., CPA, CMA, CHAMP, CSAM).
- Strong financial acumen and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000– $105,000annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

- This role is based in our Boston office and follows our hybrid work model for U.S. offices. We require employees to be in their assigned home office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, as well as the first Friday of each month.
