Position Summary
The Tax Accountant will play a key role in the Finance & Tax department by ensuring accurate tax reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting both month-end and year-end close processes. This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support sales tax compliance. This includes preparing, filing and remitting payments to state and local jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of state sales tax exemption certificates.
- Analyze and perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare general ledger activities and maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to management.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate collection of Sales Tax
- Assist with external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Working knowledge of SAP system.
- Detailed knowledge of Sales & Use tax requirements by states.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OneSource Sales Tax & Income Tax system.
- Working knowledge of Federal State & Local Income Tax returns and processes.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.

- SAP working knowledge
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of detailed Sales tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
