Human Resources Specialist

Indianapolis, IN

Fully in‑office position

$55,000 – $70,000 base salary (flexible based on experience and responsibilities)

A growing organization in the Indianapolis area is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support day‑to‑day HR operations in a fully on‑site environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being embedded with the team, working closely with employees, and supporting core HR processes through direct, in‑person interaction.

The HR Specialist will play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting employee needs, and ensuring smooth execution of HR programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support core HR activities, including onboarding, employee documentation, and HR record maintenance
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and HR procedures
  • Assist with recruitment coordination, interviews, and new‑hire onboarding
  • Support benefits administration and act as a liaison with vendors as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Assist with performance management and employee relations matters
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in HR records and documentation
  • Support HR projects, initiatives, and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required or strongly preferred)
  • 2–5+ years of progressive HR or HR Generalist experience
  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee administration, and HR compliance
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and sound judgment
  • HR certification (aPHR, PHR, or SHRM‑CP) a plus, but not required

Compensation & Opportunity
