Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, project management, or related field strongly preferred or seven (7) years of progressive project management experience, with at least three (3) years leading enterprise-level projects or programs.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience mentoring or leading other project managers or cross-functional teams. Demonstrated success leading projects with enterprise-wide scope. Experience working in or with a formal Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including experience delivering to executives and boards.
  • Proven ability to lead change, drive strategy execution, and influence cross functional stakeholders at all levels. Proficient in ServiceNow, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and project portfolio management (PPM) tools.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP, PfMP, PMI-PMOCP, or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, dependencies, and competing priorities across large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to apply data-driven decision making

Day-to-Day:

The Operations Project Manager provides enterprise-level leadership for large, complex, and high-impact initiatives across academic, research, and healthcare environments. This role leads strategic programs and portfolios within the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO), ensuring alignment with system-wide priorities, consistent governance, effective resource utilization, and successful outcomes. The position partners closely with executive, clinical, operational, and IT leaders; mentors other project managers; drives change management and process improvement; and serves as a key liaison between executive sponsors and delivery teams.

  • Serves as the primary lead for strategic and complex programs consisting of multiple interrelated projects with significant system-wide impact and visibility.
  • Leads multi-disciplinary teams across departments and campuses, including executives, clinical, operational, and Information Solutions stakeholders.
  • Provides mentorship and indirect leadership to Project Managers I–III, including oversight of project planning quality, risk mitigation strategies, and documentation standards.
  • Develops and leads portfolio-level tracking, metrics, and reporting frameworks; identifies cross-project dependencies and enterprise-wide risks.
  • Translates strategic goals into actionable project charters, scope documents, and implementation plans; aligns execution with organizational objectives.
  • Ensures high-level stakeholder engagement and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Anticipates organizational or system changes and adjusts program strategies to maintain alignment with evolving goals.
  • Leads change management planning and communication efforts across impacted stakeholder groups.
  • Engages in enterprise-level process improvement efforts and supports continuous advancement of the ePMO’s methodology and tools.
  • Identifies and implements enterprise-wide best practices in project governance, compliance, and performance measurement.
  • Escalates critical issues and barriers to executive leadership with recommended resolutions.
  • Acts as a liaison between executive sponsors and project teams to ensure transparent communication, accountability, and performance.
  • Supports strategic planning and alignment of departmental initiatives with capital planning and system-wide initiatives.
