The Government Solution Consultant partners closely with Sales, Product Managers, Technology, Legal, and Implementation teams to solve our federal and state government clients’ most pressing needs around benefit eligibility. By leveraging a strong understanding of benefit-eligibility policy and processes, the Solution Consultant will promote, demonstrate, and sell solutions within the Equifax suite of products and will develop and maintain relationships with clients throughout the sales cycle.

We are seeking candidates based in the Western United States to support our West Territory Account Executives in this fully remote role.

What You’ll Do

Sales Support

  • Presentations and Demos: Lead customer demonstrations using internal environments and external tools and present technical collateral to customers.
  • Business Development: Assist Sales and Alliance teams in the business development phase to identify opportunities and understand a customer’s current system state.
  • Market Landscape: Maintain expertise in market segments including Social Services (SNAP, Medicaid/CHIP, TANF), Child Support, and Unemployment Insurance.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain knowledge of competitors' products, including their strengths, weaknesses, and how they promote their solutions.

Solution Design and Expertise

  • Product SME: Maintain a deep understanding of product features, functions, inputs/outputs, and supported platforms like API, Batch, and Applicant Portals.
  • Architect Customer Solutions: Work closely with customers, Sales, and Product teams to define solutions that address the missions of government agencies. Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-business unit partners to reconcile customer requirements and help define solutions.
  • Technical Feasibility: Provide technical feasibility assessments for new products to meet customer demand and requirements. Collaborate with product teams to help fulfill the customers vision.
  • Requirement Translation: Serve as the requirements gathering team to define solutions that can be delivered via existing products with minor enhancements or configurations or new product development efforts.

Collaboration and Lifecycle Management

  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the liaison between proposal teams, product engineering, and post-sales implementation teams.
  • Post-Award Transition: Serve as the initial technical liaison post-award before handing project ownership to the Implementation Lead.
  • Customer Engagement: Maintains professional relationship with customers and ensures successful adoption of products. Uses a consultative approach to verify ongoing client success.
  • Industry Engagement: Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending company-sponsored training, educational workshops, industry conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Gap Resolution: Identify gaps in offerings related to client requirements and work with product teams to develop plans to close those gaps.
  • Proposal Leadership: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs, helping define win themes and discriminators, and producing technical responses.

What Experience You Need

  • 7+ years of experience working with state and federal government agencies specifically around SNAP, Medicaid, or other means-tested social service programs.
  • Additional experience in solutions consulting or sales roles preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to travel an estimated 50% of the time

What Could Set You Apart

  • Extensive experience with SNAP and/or Medicaid eligibility processes
  • Prior Government or Open Banking experience a plus
  • Understanding of technical configurations of state eligibility systems, API implementation, and batch processing
  • Experience in a highly-regulated environment
  • Understanding of data sources that are used in the benefit-eligibility lifecycle
  • Ability to influence within a matrixed organization
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Consultative and engaging/dynamic presentation experience

Equifax is required by law to include a good-faith salary range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. At Equifax, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000 to $170,000. This position is also eligible for our incentive compensation program at approximately 30%. The application window is anticipated to close on May 22, 2026.
