Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the accounting team of a publicly traded company. This role supports core accounting functions, monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance requirements in a fast-paced, SOX-compliant environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation and prior experience working within a public company.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Participate in SOX internal control documentation and compliance testing
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Perform variance analysis and assist with management reporting
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, and operational teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• Experience working for a publicly traded company (required)
• 1–4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and public company reporting standards
• Experience with SOX controls and audit processes
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Workday, or similar)
• CPA or CPA-progress strongly preferred
