Project Manager IV – New Generation Construction (APS)

Overview

APS is seeking a senior-level Project Manager to lead large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including solar, battery energy storage, and gas-fired generation. This role will oversee highly complex, high-visibility capital projects ranging from $75M–$500M+, with direct exposure to executive leadership and external stakeholders.

This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving projects from planning through execution while managing risk, budget, schedule, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of large, cross-functional capital projects within generation (solar, storage, gas)
• Develop and present comprehensive project plans to executive leadership and project sponsors
• Drive all phases of project delivery including:
• Planning, resourcing, staffing
• Vendor and contractor management
• Budget, schedule, and risk management
• Oversee project performance to ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met or exceeded

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of Project Management experience
• Experience managing large capital projects (ideally $50M+)
• Experience with high voltage and/or thermal generation projects
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives
• Strong experience with budget, schedule, and stakeholder management

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience in utility, energy, or power generation environments
• Exposure to solar or energy storage projects
• Experience working with executive leadership / board-level reporting
• PMP or related certification

Compensation: $60-90/hour (depending on YOE, converted to a salary at 6 months)

Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
