One of our clients, an engineering and construction company, is looking for an experienced Director of

Accounting & Finance to lead our financial operations. This role oversees all accounting and finance

functions, ensures accurate financial reporting, and provides financial insight to support project

profitability and company growth.

The ideal candidate has strong construction or EPC accounting experience, is comfortable working

hands-on, and can lead a team in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, job costing, project

accounting, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end close

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S.

GAAP

• Manage construction/project accounting, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, WIP

reports, and variance analysis

• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance; serve as the main contact for auditors,

tax advisors, and banks

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis to support executive and

project decisions

• Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury activities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team as the company grows

• Work closely with operations, project management, procurement, and leadership to ensure

financial accuracy and alignment

• Support system improvements, ERP enhancements, and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

• CPA or Master’s degree preferred

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role

• Strong background in construction, EPC, energy, oil & gas, or industrial project accounting

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP; experience with construction revenue recognition (including

percentage-of-completion)

• Experience using accounting or construction ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint,

Deltek, or similar)

• Proven ability to build and manage accounting processes in a growing company

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
