Corporate Accounting Manager

A well-established, real estate organization is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting oversight with broader financial support, including cash flow management, tax coordination, and strategic financial reporting.

Position Summary

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and supporting liquidity, tax, and treasury-related activities. This role also contributes to process improvements, audit coordination, and financial analysis that supports business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily corporate accounting operations and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
• Prepare and review financial reports for internal leadership use
• Monitor, compile, and analyze detailed cash flow reporting, including historical trends and future cash needs
• Assign and review work across the accounting team to ensure quality and compliance
• Coordinate income tax preparation across multiple entities and work with external tax advisors
• Enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Review accounting data to support strategic planning and operational decision-making
• Maintain treasury and banking relationships and support banking activity
• Support annual audits and help identify process improvements across the finance function
• Handle occasional confidential accounting support for related ownership activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Background in real estate strongly preferred, though strong corporate accounting managers will be considered
• CPA or MBA a plus
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow, and tax-related processes
• Experience with Yardi, Timberline / Sage, or similar systems is a strong plus
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $115,000–$130,000 plus bonus
• Benefits: 100% company-paid medical plan option, 401(k) with match, paid parental leave, PTO, holidays, and additional benefits
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
• Location: Northern suburbs of Chicago
