  • Campus-based role at Alpha School in Brownsville, TX
  • W2 salary of $100,000/year, with weekly pay and health benefits starting day one
  • Relocation assistance available for candidates committing to one full school year

You've dedicated years to coaching young people — not simply instructing them. The distinction matters: coaching means forming connections, setting high expectations, and refusing to accept mediocrity. Instruction is content transmission. You've never been about content transmission.

Alpha operates a school model unlike anything you've encountered before. Students aren't arranged in rows listening to lectures. Instead, they progress independently through AI-driven learning applications. The AI manages academic instruction. Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that captivate K-8 students, conducting motivation sessions that drive weekly learning target achievement, and maintaining standards when students attempt to disengage. Academic progress happens automatically. You manage the relational dimension.

This position offers meaningful advancement potential, specifically toward greater student influence. Guides who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort completion of weekly app targets, satisfaction ratings above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions, where they train fellow educators in these methods. Students remain the central focus.

The Brownsville campus sits adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position centers on mission — transforming students' self-perception — rather than résumé enhancement, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify genuine skill acquisition rather than passive attendance
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot data to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression targets
  • Employing narrative techniques, incentive structures (campus currency, competitive rankings), and individual relationships to overcome student reluctance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction metrics to maintain a 90%+ threshold on student feedback surveys

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering traditional lectures from the front of a classroom. Academic advancement occurs through student-directed AI-powered applications, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Providing passive supervision. The environment involves students using computers; the role demands active engagement.
  • Compromising standards in response to student resistance. Test2Pass requirements remain fixed, even during challenging weeks for students.
  • Creating original curriculum materials. Workshop frameworks and lesson structures are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with compelling delivery and narrative skill that ensures genuine student comprehension.
  • Handling parent relations, admissions processes, or campus-level operations. Those functions belong to separate roles.

Consultant Key Responsibilities

Guide a K-8 student cohort to achieve 100% completion of weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that maintain satisfaction scores of 90% or higher.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
  • Strong storytelling and facilitation skills — capacity to maintain student engagement for hour-long sessions
  • Available to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
  • Demonstrated high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional contexts)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or application-based learning models
